touchpad disabled after kernel update on 19/10/2009

Bug Description

Working on updated Ubuntu Karmic Release candidate

After Kernel update on 19/10/2009 the touchpad mouse on HP Pavilion dv2000 has ceased to function.

Kernel error warning occured however when I tried to report it crashed

Enabling/disabling mouse pad changes nothing.

Normal usb/wireless/bluetooth mice operate fine. only internal touchpad effected

Have run updates since to no avail

Hi Felix,

Can you comment which specific previous kernel version was working before the regression occurred? You can find the specific version of the kernel by running:

cat /proc/version_signature

@Felix -- just to be clear could we have the specific version numbers in which it works and does not work and a dmesg from each ... please lable the dmesg's clearly so as not to confuse us :). Thanks!
