Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

Been running 9.10 for approx a months and the update i did yesterday screwed totem up for me.

Since i upgraded the system yesterday totem (2.28.1-0ubuntu4) hasn't been playing files as it should.
If i add 2 or more files into the playlist the first one plays ok, but when the 2nd starts playing there is no sound in it. A restart of totem is required to get it back working again.

Tried with several different .avi files and they all have behaved in the same way.

tested the same here with a couple of mp3s and they work fine, with which files are you having the issue there?

Changed in totem (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs)
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

I can reproduce the bug:

1. Download the 854x480 ogg file from here: http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/index.php/download/
2. Make sure totem is not open.
3. Double click the file in nautilus. It should start playing with sound in totem
5. Double click the file again in nautilus. The sound will be delayed and out of sync by the amount of time you allowed the file to play the first time.

It would seem this is related to the "Start playing from last position" option, but it also happens with the option disabled and with two different files.

The same happens if I use the playlist with two files and click next chapter.
