Hda, can you reimplement the drag and drop code (about 40 lines) in this file to remove Cedric's copyright ? You can find several examples of D&D with PyGTK on Google.

Cedric, I don't understand, what's your interest in preventing us to change our licence to a more open one ?

Changed in openobject-client:
assignee: nobody → hda (OpenERP) (hda-tinyerp)

First, there is no openness order in licenses.
Second, switch to AGPL is non-useful for a desktop application because it is for network servers.

Hello Everybody

Sorry for my bad english, but, Fabien!! i think that is so so important have
a relation with all distinct licenses on code, because change this may be
taken in wrong interpretation or simply somebody may be planning in develop
under an specific license. this is so important as the control of issues and
the collaboration of the community..... In this case i think that the change
is for "more freedome", i share this interpretation....
*"The Free Software Foundation has released the Affero General Public
license version 3 <http://www.fsf.org/agplv3-pr>. The license is essentially
the GPLv3 with an added clause that requires that source code be distributed
to users that interact with the application over a network. The license
effectively extends copyright to Web applications. The new AGPL will have
important effects for companies that, under the GPL, have no obligation to
distribute changes to users on the Web. This release adds the license to the
stable of official FSF licenses and is compatible with the GPLv3."

Good for this change Fabien, but we need be informed officially at least by
blog's entries on the planet this kind of changes......

I find really strange that the license is not yet fixed. I just need to keep the file to the GPL-3 like you did for the SpiffGtkWidgets.
By the way, I would like to inform you that the SpiffGtkWidgets are released under GPL-2 only which is incompatible with the GPL-3 (and also AGPL-3) according to this page: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#AllCompatibility

Hello Cédric,

For now we revert license change from list.py. We will change D&D code soon and change the licence.

Thanks.

Ok, but sorry for you that you don't understand that AGPL is useless for a GTK client.
And you should really take care of the license issue with SpiffGtkWidgets.

By the way, you should also put a copy of the GPL-3 in the source.

I'm closing this old bug, the license of the file was restored as requested, and this license is compatible with the AGPLv3 license of the GTK client, as provisioned by Section 13 of both licenses.
I guess the point of the change of license was to make it more consistent across OpenERP projects and easier to understand for customers.

Changed in openobject-client:
assignee: hda (OpenERP) (hda-tinyerp) → nobody
status: In Progress → Fix Released
