Bug Description
Binary package hint: system-
For some months now HPLIP has two driver flavors, the IJS-based hpijs which it had already all the time and the new CUPS-Raster based hpcups. HP's intention is to migrate to the latter. We tried the migration in Ubuntu Karmic, but it turned out that the new driver has still very many regressions:

In the HPLIP package we did already the migration back, the binary package "hpijs" converts hpcups-based print queues to hpijs when it is installed or updated.
Also system-
All reported hpcups problems get solved by switching over to hpijs according to above-mentioned bug reports. There is no known hpijs bug which gets worked around by switching to hpcups.
This is a temporary workaround for Ubuntu Karmic. If the hpcups bugs get fixed we will remove the patch in later Ubuntu versions.
The fixed package is uploaded and in the "Waiting for Approval" queue.
