Bug Description
Binary package hint: php-codesniffer
Since 17 Aug 2009 the current stable version of php codesniffer is 1.2.0. Both stable (Jaunty) and pre-release (Karmic) packages are still of version 1.1.0.
That version has some problems with Zend coding standard which render the package useless and make users fall back to pear installer.

Thanks for reporting this issue and making Ubuntu better!
I attached a bug watch to a bug in Debian requesting a newer version of this package. Since Ubuntu is based on Debian, a newer version of a package in Debian will also appear in Ubuntu after a while.
