Same problem here after updating and reboot my karmic UNR installation. Also the dpkg interrupt came up here.

Maybe this goes together with following bugs:

Uhm.

Same problem here.

But, after running "dpkg --configure -a" I think I found the problem.

dpkg: underprosessen installed post-installation script returnerte feilstatus 1
root@lxjorn:~# df -h

... It's quite possible the lack of free space on /boot which seems to be the problem on my side. ;-) I'll try freeing up some space by deleting old kernels, and then try the command once more.

I believe my problem was self inflicted.
I am new to Ubuntu and am learning to build the kernel.
After I built, installed and ran a new kernel I deleted the kernel and moved the source.
Apparently I did not remove the kernel cleanly, but left a hook somewhere pointing to the removed kernel. Running dpkg -- configure -a appears to have cleaned up.

I am not sure if requiring manual cleanup after a user error should be considered a bug or not.

Got the same problem after removing a custom kernel, but 'dpkg -- configure -a' does not solve it:

No further issues for me. Given that there has been nothing added since
comment #6 (2009-12-22) I reckon that we can probably mark this as fixed.
