Bug Description

Binary package hint: software-center

While attempting to d/l the game Xword from the ubuntu software-center, at 50% it stops, pop-up says: Failed to d/l pkg files, Check your internet connection.

I'm using Karmic Koala (beta) & my internet connection is fine with all other game d/l's
Sorry if I'm not giving you all the info you need- this is all I can see. My son is the geek and I just kind of stumble along. I've never reported a bug before

I'm not able to reproduce the bug at this time. I just downloaded and installed Xword on 2 different machines with the newest version of the Software Center.

It looks like this is just a case of the package list being out of date - 1.0-3 is what software center is trying to download, 1.0-5 is current according to packages.ubuntu.com. Reloading the package list should fix this, but this brings up an interesting point - I don't see anywhere in software center to refresh/reload the package list without going to software repositories and changing a repository so that it prompts to reload. It probably should have an option somewhere, or perhaps even prompt that the package list could be out of date and ask about reloading if there is a 404 on fetching a package.

Is there a dialog I'm missing for reloading the package list?

Carol -- please reload the package list by opening synaptic (Under System->Administrator) and clicking reload, then close synaptic and open software center again, and try installing the game.
