Bug Description

Have TCP trace to prove it,

Not sure if it is a client issue, a one off or a server problem - need to investigate on Win7 RTM

issue is also on vista (have not tried xp as i don't have that)
problem can not be server as tcp trace proof is from client side

I'm running production clients on Vista with no issue. I guess we'll find the root cause when Dan solves this.

Henri...

I have just upgraded my development machine to Win7 and tried this out... from what I can see thus far the stats are OK on this machine.

This leaves me a little puzzled... did you ever try this on Win 7 (not RTM/RC)?

The Win7 RTM is the one that got released on the 22nd of Oct.
I have the same issue on another machine that has Vista!

I know that stats work on Vista here - we've got several boxes running it. I'm wondering if this is locale specific. What language settings, timezones etc do you have set on the client?

Alex,

We use US as locale!
As you can see in the tcp/ip trace the client generates the data wrong!

Yes it does, but here for Dan and I it isn't so clearly there's some difference in the setup between your Windows 7 and Vista machines and ours. The hard bit is figuring out what difference that is.

Switching to a US locale shouldn't be difficult to test. What we really need is specifics - exacly which keymap, timezone, character sets etc you've got enabled as defaults.

Hi Henri,

Yeah, your client is obviously generating the data incorrectly somehow...
the problem we have now is that we can't recreate the problem on our
development machines.

I had thought it would prove to be a generic Win7 problem - however it seems
that it is more specific.

We will try again using the US locale to see if that makes a difference.

Failing that I will generate you an XiboClient.exe which will write the
stats to a file instead of sending them to the web service. This will
hopefully narrow down the problem.

Cheers,
Dan

Keyboard = English (United States) - US
Timezone = UTC+01:00 (Amsterdam)
Charset ? - it's a default win 7 install
