Bug Description

I have tried Ubuntu Netook Remix 9.04, and it seems to me that some application get the wrong resolution info resulting in windows being to big for the screen or to small in fullscreen mode.

Inkscape do show tat issue :

if the windows is not maximized, then its height is too big, preventing to access the bottom buttons, and there is an inability to move the window in an other way.

If the window is maximized, then it still has the too big height but curious thing is that it also has a too small width.

I do not know if the problem with Evolution window size is linked to this.

As far as I know, normal version of Ubuntu do not show this problem, only UNR, and only some apps

Thank you for taking the time to report this and help make Ubuntu better. However, this isn't a bug with UNR. These window size problems are specific to the applications in which they are found. Fortunately, many of these have already been fixed. The best course of action here is:
1. First check if it's still a problem using the latest development release - Karmic. The beta for this release is already out, and the release candidate will be showing up soon. Many of these issues will have already been fixed.
2. If the problem does still exist, and a bug for it has not already been opened, please open a bug for each one of these for the package in which the bug is found. For instance, if it's inkscape, open it in inkscape.
Thanks!

Well actually under Ubuntu 9.04 normal version I do not have this proble with Inkscape, and with Ubuntu 9.04 UNR I do... So I am inclined to believe this is linked to UNR and not to inkscape.

Well I got another guy on the ubuntu-fr.org forum that confirm tis behaviour :

Some applications windows get the wrong size in UNR 9.04 and not in normal Ubuntu 9.04.

I did not try UNR 9.10 since I use this on my work laptop, but again normal 9.10 is still ok.

By the way, on my laptop the UNR UI did not work properly either : there was a shift between the buttons and the cursor that made some of them very hard to click on, I did'nt mind since I do not like that UI, but I start thinking this could be linked.

Since you are indicating that this is fixed in the current released version of Ubuntu (9.10), I am marking it fix-released.
