A temporary workaround is to create a new local calendar and just save the .ics file in the Ubuntu One folder (by ticking customise options and setting the file path). Then on your other computers, once Ubuntu One has synchronised the calendar file, you create a new local calendar and point to the existing .ics file.

However, I would like calendar synchronization to be fully integrated.

Contacts isn't so much of a priority for me, but if U1 had calendar syncing support through syncML, I would pay the $10 monthly fee without hesitation. Syncing through files works between my desktops, but not to my phone which is a real bummer.

Is the plan for U1 to just add built-in calendar syncing or would it be a full webapp that lets me view my calendar in any browser anywhere, similar to Google Calendar? If the plan is for it be a webapp that would be incredible. Would be nice to not use Google Calendar for syncing.

Another vote for this feature. I currently use Google Calendar because I can access it on my Droid but the interface sucks badly. Calendar is currently the only thing holding me back from paying the monthly fee.

Would love to see this feature. There is no calendar sync which works perfectly with Nokia devices. Ubuntu one is perfect for bookmark and contact sync for all my devices.

You'll need to try to gather support for the idea by promoting the link and asking people to vote it up. We don't currently have plans to add calendar sync right now but that could change.

calendar sync with ubuntuone would be great...could use every calendar format so it could sync with evolution, outlook, thunderbird and others...

Not only Calendar even so whole pim-data like Contacts, Calendars, Tasks and Notes for the beginning. I'm shure the independece (without third services, see post #5) is importend for this kind of data.

I use ubuntu one free. I have thought about upgrading to take advantage of the music feature, but I wouldn't use it enough to justify the monthly fee, but I would pay for calendar syncing.
