Bug Description

OpenShot doesn't crash now when rendering, but it doesn't produce proper videos either.

Heres an example - no video, no sound, the only thing that's right is the total time it should have been. I tried using the youtube hd preset.

tried a vimeo one too, but pretty identital result :\

This just seems like an FFmpeg issue. This might be a long shot, but you
might try removing / purging OpenShot, FFmpeg, MLT, and x264, and then
re-install from the PPA. I'm guessing you have to conflicting version of
FFmpeg, or something crazy like that. Hopefully this will help.

Hello Vadim,

There is not much that can be seen on your video of you editing.

However I was able to spot your mistake despite that.

You have been trying to transition everything on one track. You placed all the clips on one track and overlapped them.

What you need to do is to place the clips on at least two different tracks, so that the only overlaps are between two different tracks.

I am marking this bug as invalid.

Helen

I am also having problems with rendering in HD for Youtube.
I had an older version of OpenShot and deleted it per the instructions on the Openshot page before I downloaded the latest version.
I installed it with the PPA per the instructions.
After editing the clips and rendering in HD the work came back totally blank...nothing there.
I switched my settings to a lesser quality output and the video rendered like it should have....just seems to be the HD setting?

Do you use the version of FFmpeg who is in the Medibuntu Repository ? Only this is have the codec AVC who is used for creating a video HD for Youtube.
