Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

I seems to me that Firefox 3.5 runs quite slow in Ubuntu 9.10 (beta). This is especially the case when there is some flash on the page. Also the busy-mouse indicator is often on for minutes seconds after the browser were opened up. When selecting a drop-down menu with many items (e.g. bookmarks) the horizontal bar does not follow very well, when I let the mouse run down over the bookmarks.

Firefox did not run that slow in Ubuntu 9.04, when surfing the same pages.

I seems like the load on the graphics card/memory is higher than in the previous version.

My machine is a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo PI2515 with 2.5 GB of RAM. I use Flash plug-in from Adobe.

Regards
Erik

Hi.

I put the wrong version of Ubuntu in the report. The version is 9.10 and not 4.10.

Sorry about that.

Erik

There is a bug in IPv6 for DNS: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eglibc/+bug/417757

Try the following:
go to about:config
find network.dns.disableIPv6
if it says false, right click and select toggle
