2010-01-29 07:55:28 Gabe Gorelick summary Firefox 3.5.3 runs slower in Ubuntu 4.10 Firefox 3.5.3 runs slower in Ubuntu 9.10
2010-01-29 07:55:41 Gabe Gorelick description Binary package hint: firefox-3.5 I seems to me that Firefox 3.5 runs quite slow in Ubuntu 4.10 (beta). This is especially the case when there is some flash on the page. Also the busy-mouse indicator is often on for minutes seconds after the browser were opened up. When selecting a drop-down menu with many items (e.g. bookmarks) the horizontal bar does not follow very well, when I let the mouse run down over the bookmarks. Firefox did not run that slow in Ubuntu 3.04, when surfing the same pages. I seems like the load on the graphics card/memory is higher than in the previous version. My machine is a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo PI2515 with 2.5 GB of RAM. I use Flash plug-in from Adobe.
