Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
On clean install of Jaunty, I logged in for the first time and then locked the screen immediately. When update-manager popped under showing available updates, I could see all of my desktop except for the top and bottom panels.
This is a security risk, since I could have sensitive documents open and be away from my desk. IIRC, the screensaver doesn't hide the desktop again until a key is pressed or the mouse moved (which causes the password entry dialog to display).
It has also recurred since installing the initial updates, but the above is the easiest way I can describe how to reproduce it.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. What is your window manager? (e.g. Gnome with visual effects (compiz), KDE3, KDE4, etc).
