what release are you building for jaunty or karmic ?
and what is your host system, jaunty or karmic ?
it looks very much like even the basic debootstrap didnt work, no udevd no diversions file etc

Hi Oliver,

Rootstock version downloaded today (23/09/2009 produces the /dev/pts error! However re-trying with Rootstock version downloaded 15th September still works fine, no /dev/pts error.

regards

Patrick

does it work if you try to move "${SECOND_STAGE}" from line 616 in:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ogra/project-rootstock/trunk/annotate/head%3A/rootstock

up to line 599 ?

i guess i added it to a to late point for being run on jaunty

it is running now, will take some time to complete...
will keep you informed

ps i added an 'answer' instead of a bug yesterday (was not awake...),
which may be removed.
