This does not look very healthy:

[ 4141.585583] FAT: Filesystem error (dev sdb)
[ 4141.585588] invalid access to FAT (entry 0x0d905800)
[ 4141.585593] File system has been set read-only

Can you please run System -> Admin -> Manage Drives and Media, select the iLiad, and do a file system check?

Can you confirm that the current device still works fine in Jaunty? (By e. g. booting the jaunty live system)

affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) → devicekit-disks (Ubuntu)
Changed in devicekit-disks (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

I'm sorry, this looks like a problem with the iLiad which coincidentally happened at the same time I upgraded to karmic. The file system check comes up clean, but I get the same errors trying to mount it on other systems, so I think the file system still got corrupted somehow. Sorry for not testing more extensively before submitting a bug report.

Ah, thanks for testing. Don't be sorry, we want to hear about problems. There have been a fair amount of real regressions in Karmic due to the move to DeviceKit.

Good luck with fixing your iLiad!
