Bug Description

In a fresh install of karmic alpha 6 with updates thru 09/19

Optical media with UDF/iso9660 filesytems is no longer being detected or mounted when inserted. There is no activity shown in dmesg, and the cdrom icon in computer will disappear once the media is inserted

This occurs will all data cd, dvd disks and dvd video disks

Audio cd's are unaffected

lshw - C disk lists the drive(s), showing a status of "ready" which indicates media found with either no or unknown filesystem.
Nothing is to be found in /media/cdrom*

In the case of dvd video. media players that can access the device will playback, ie, dvd:///dev/sr0, without manually mounting, otherwise the disks can be mounted manually under root, though somewhat improperly

I confirm that having mounted as root, totem will play:

$ sudo mount /dev/dvd /mnt
$ totem /mnt

will work
