Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. There is enough information here for a developer to start working on this issue. Please report any other issues you may find.

@Developers
I can confirm this on Karmic Alpha 6. Is there a way we can patch this to just show the current version of a language pack for this release?

affects: firefox (Ubuntu) → firefox-3.5 (Ubuntu)

we could remove the firefox 3 language packs all together once its demoted to universe.
Besides from that i don't see an easy fix for this unless we don't want to hide them
completely.

Same problem here. Upgraded 9.04 to 9.10 beta. Ubuntu left both Firefox 3.0 installed and installed Firefox 3.5. I have removed Frefox 3.0 and Xulrunner 1.9.0 and it is still showing up in the Add-ons windows.

Same problem here, upgrade from jaunty to karmic 64 bit. The buttons are disabled so you can't (re)enable or uninstall them.. Not even with nightly tester tools.

Same problem here (karmic beta), I was looking for this bug report

The first time that I launched firefox wham! the extensions screen opens up, tells me "3 new extensions have been installed" and it was just strange. this could be very confusing for new users

In latest update of Karmic Beta removed Polish language in firefox.
Firefox (pl) and XULrunner (pl) add-ond for firefox are installed in versions only for FF 3.0, which are not compatible to FF 3.5

Karol, can you please run:

ls /usr/lib/mozilla/extensions/\{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384\}/
ls /usr/lib/mozilla/extensions/
ls /usr/lib/xulrunner-addons/extensions/

and post the output.

also go to about:config and change extensions.logging.enabled setting
to true.

Then stop everything, run

 touch /usr/lib/firefox-3.5*/.autoreg

and start firefox ...paste what you get on console.

the old translations are stil in the -base langpacks ... plese verify. they should however
not be in the non-base langpacks already and go away for final langpack push in -base too.
