No internet connection after upgrading

I upgraded to Dapper and now my internet connection doesn't work. I tryed to configure pppoeconf again, but nothing happens. I use a dsl modem. Pon dsl-provider says everything is ok.

I am getting the same problems but plog shows it is timing out. I installed edgy which worked until I upgraded it by doing an update. Since then I do not have internet connection.

I am getting an unable to discover PADS. and then a timeout on pppoe. It was working before the restart but not after. I was able to reinstall the program again and I have access but after the restart I do not have internet access. This is a pain.

Sometimes i need to restart Ubuntu to have a stable connection, but it is
not such a problem for me.
The problem persist on usb adsl modem on my friends PC. We are both running
Dapper.

You can probably just close this. I am not using the machine any more and
then one that I have bought I am running either Mandriva 2008 on it or
desktopbsd so will not be running Ubuntu or Kubuntu on this again.
