Bug Description

Binary package hint: abiword

Looking at https://launchpadlibrarian.net/31791848/abiword_2.6.8-5ubuntu2_i386_translations.tar.gz in the source/build-tree/abiword-2.6.8/po/ folder are a lot of translations (.po files), but no translation template (.pot file). This means translations can't be imported into Rosetta and they won't be shipped with Ubuntu language-packs.

Please make sure the .pot template gets generated during build time and ends up in the same directory as the .po files. For more information, see:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Internationalisation#Translation%20templates
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Internationalisation/RecipeVerifyingTranslationUploads

Also, in order to automatically import the translations, the following .po files should be renamed:

I'm marking this as Invalid, as Abiword is now in Universe. Although still a valid issue, it has been already reported upstream, and should be fixed there. We can reopen it if abiword is promoted back to main.

Upstream does not want the .po files renamed. Since the upstream bug has been closed, I am closing this bug report as won't fix.
