We'll need the logs from the update-manager and dpkg.log to evaluate
this. Also please provide:

apt-cache policy mythtv-backend

Where do I find the log for update-manager?

From the looks of it, your mirror is likely just out of sync. Can you try
an apt-get update and try again? If that's still not working, try switching
to archive.ubuntu.com

Thanks. I switched to archive.ubuntu.com and now apt-get dist-upgrade wants to upgrade 197 packages and remove 2 packages.
