Display garbled in BASIC TUTORIAL after using scroll wheel to follow example. When I leave this page to return to the tutorial the report a bug is still there and the screen is grayed out and un responsive

After trying to report this bug Inkscape is completely grayed out

Probably it is something related to differences in fonts. Most of the text boxes of the different translations of the basic tutorial overlap. Currently I'm working on the Dutch translation. From what I see, the position of the different text boxes needs to be readapted for all translated basic tutorials (there is a translation, but the text boxes are kept at the same place although, the text in translation might be shorter or longer).

@Marathongman - which version of Inkscape on which platform?

1) garbled tutorial text: duplicate of Bug #381274 in Inkscape: “request to build tutorials”?
2) "When I leave this page to return to the tutorial the report a bug is still there and the screen is grayed out and unresponsive"
This must be related to the launcher extension for the web pages in the help menu.

A new tutorial build has been committed in revision 22268. It removes the overlap bug.
Could you please (if you can compile it, of course) test a recent revision?

LOL - But anyway it seems to be improved. Perhaps something to do with word wrapping or some other type of editing. For example - at the end of the first paragraph

 have the zoom tool(in the toolbar on left) which lets you zoom into an area by dragging

around it.

It contiues throughout the tutorial - scrolling down

I would gladly compile it if I could. A long long time ago I did teach myself MS-DOS haven't used it in a long time but if you were to send instructions I would gladly give it a try.

Where as everything else is double spaced. I tried to copy and paste examples but I could not

@Marathongman. Are you sure you're testing a very recent build?. I've updated the files in revision 22268. So if you use a pre version (0, 1 or 2), you still use the old tutorials.
If you can't compile from SVN, could you please download the latest tutorial (http://inkscape.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/inkscape/inkscape/trunk/share/tutorials/tutorial-basic.svg) and open it with your inkscape version?

I guess this bug is fixed, no? At least the basic tutorial seems OK in the final 0.47 release.

This bug is fixed in 0.47pre3 and later. Closed Fix Released.
