Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I just set up the latest alpha of Ubuntu Karmic and installed all available updates. Now I'm trying to set up Evolution. I open Evolution and go through all the steps of entering my account information, but when I finish, I get this screen. Notice that there is no 'apply' button. Clicking the 'Forward' button takes me back to the beginning of the setup assistant, and clicking 'Cancel' does what it should: it cancels the setup attempt.

Steps to reproduce:
(Running a fresh installation of Ubuntu & Evolution, so no already-existing configuration)
1) Click the Evolution icon on Ubuntu's top bar
2) Go through the setup wizard, putting in all necessary information

What should happen:
At the end of the setup wizard there should be an 'apply' button which you can click to save your configuration.

What actually happens:
No 'apply' button, 'forward' button visible instead.

I see the same thing, but in my case, "Forward" doesn't restart the wizard, it just does nothing.

I fail to see how this can bug can be of "medium" importance. It renders evolution completely useless on initial setup. At https://dev.launchpad.net/BugTriage a criterion for a bug being of "critical" importance is that "The feature is needed to encourage adoption or prevent abandonment of the project." Being able to do an initial set-up of Evolution must certainly be "needed to encourage adoption" of the program.

why do people always feel they have to argue about settings? the bug has been milestoned for alpha6 which is due this week and will be fixed today or tomorrow, is that worth discussing settings?

I solved this problem in my evolution app by Udating the "evolution" Install with "Synaptic Package Manager". I am running Alpha 5. Once the update was executed the problem of the Missing "Apply" button in Evolution application was solved. I can now add mail accounts and save the settings etc.

Seen again on the released version of Ubuntu 9.10 x86

It's not possible to complete the Evolution Setup Assistant - the forward button is greyed out on the Identity screen.

Sorry i should mention - mine is that when i open the setup assistant - the very first page the forward button works, on the second screen (import backup) forward is greyed out - if i tick the Restore checkbox - the forward button changes to apply and then if i untick it changes back to forward and i can press it, but then on the next screen forward is greyed out and i can't get past it....
