Bug Description
The tray icon for network manager when connected to a wired network is just plain ugly in karmic.
While I am very familiar with the shape of the solid black RJ-45 port as a technologist, my grandfather is not and it really has no meaning to him.
I think a better icon would show the connector, rather than the port, as well as a segment of 'wire'.
I rather like wicd's icon.

Agreed, I thought the icon we have at the moment was a black ghost with six eyes from pac-man, and it was only when I got a notification from NM showing the whole image that I realised it wasn't ...
