Bug Description

libtranslate is used by Virtaal as a plugin to provide machine translations. If this plugin is enabled on Ubuntu then you will get this error:

(virtaal:28286): libtranslate-WARNING **: unable to load module "/usr/lib/libtranslate/modules/generic.so": /usr/lib/libtranslate/modules/generic.so: undefined symbol: translate_ascii_strcase_equal

virtaal uses libtranslate using ctypes.

I suspect that the error is related to one patched on Fedora, see:

This test script exercises libtranslate using ctypes and python it fails when trying to initialise libtranslate.
