I've updated the rest of the package but I'm not sure of how to correctly update 16_use_synchronous_notifications.patch - someone familiar with this please update it.

I've updated 16_use_synchronous_notifications.patch now and also dropped 61_fix_volume_notification.patch, as it is no longer needed with the new volume control code - changes are in the ~ubuntu-desktop branch
