Thanks for your bugreport.

Could you please this it another try? A new version of the upgrade tool is available and it improves the sources.list updating pretty significantely.

Thanks,
 Michael

Your update evidently fixed the problem. I stopped seeing the error late
last week. But now when I use your upgrade tool to upgrade to the Dapper
release, I receive an error message indicating that "Ubuntu-base" is
missing. The upgrade tool then ends.
Thanks,

Thanks for this update. Could you please attach the files /var/log/dist-upgrade*.log to this bugreport? That will make diagonsing the problem much easier for me.

Thanks,
 Michael

Attached are the dist-upgrade*.log files from the most recent
"Ubuntu.base" missing failure that started after you Upgrade Manager
change.

Hm, for some reason I can't see a attachment in this bugreport? Maybe something went wrong?

I have the same "Ubuntu.base" missing problem. I can send to you an screenshot, and the files you asked for; but i can't find the way to insert an attachment in this page.
In the past i have compiled the kernell to use LIRC, i don't know if this could be causing part of the problem.

Thanks.

Alejandro.

There is a "Add attachment" option on the left-hand side of this page. Hope that helps.

I am no longer experiencing the problem. It evidently was something in my
environment. I performed a fresh install of Breezy and tried the upgrade to
Dapper Drake and this time it work successfully.

@Alejandro Balderrama: it looks like your /etc/apt/sources.list is missing the "breezy" component. Can you add it please? Use either software-properties from System/Administration or add "deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu breezy main restricted" to your /etc/apt/sources.list and try again.

Thanks,
 Michael
