Thanks for your bug report.
Could you give us more details about what you were doing? Was your network connection down?

Ok, thanks for the feedback. I think this corresponds to an issue already fixed upstream (and in karmic) by the following patch: <http://svn.xfce.org/index.cgi/goodies/xfce4-weather-plugin/trunk/panel-plugin/weather-http.c?r1=7747&r2=7746&pathrev=7747&diff_format=u>

Hardy, intrepid and jaunty should be affected, I'll try to prepare a test package including the patch soon so that you will be able to check if this solves your issue.

This intrepid-proposed SRU has not been verified in the last three months or longer. Intrepid will go out of support in less than two months, so it is not worth pursuing this SRU any further.

I removed the intrepid-proposed version from the archive.

Anyone who can test the hardy/jaunty updates? Otherwise I'll remove them from *-proposed again.

Steve Beattie (sbeattie) wrote :

I was unable to reproduce the issue with either the version of xfce4-weather-plugin from hardy-updates, 0.6.2-1ubuntu1.2, or the version in jaunty-updates, 0.6.2-1ubuntu2.9.04.1; when disconnecting the network connection, top indicated that it was using around 1.3% of the CPU and it was possible to interact with the applet.

I can confirm that the versions in hardy-proposed, 0.6.2-1ubuntu1.3, and jaunty-proposed, 0.6.2-1ubuntu2.9.04.2, don't reintroduce the problem and continue to function as expected. Marking verification-done.
