Can't translate a french sentence for cairo-dock project

Hi,

I am part of the translation team for the cairo-dock project
(https://launchpad.net/cairo-dock-core)

I have started translating the french part and am nearly there but
there is one sentence that
just won't take my input.

Basically I am trying to improve the existing translation but when I
press "Save and Continue"
nothing happens and the original translation is still present.

Here is what I would like to enter :

Mettre 0.33 signifie que 33% de la surface des icônes se reflèteront
sur le sol, et les icônes se placeront à la bonne distance du bord
inférieur du cadre afin que le reflet soit entièrement visible.

Would you have an idea how what is wrong ( or may be what I am doing
wrong) ?

I think that the problem is due to this percent-encoded characters (%).

The original sentence is : "Setting it to 0.33 will mean that 33% of the icons will reflect on the ground. The icons will be placed at the right distance from the front border of the frame so that the reflect is fully visible." contains "33% of".
And there are two letters (% o) in bold. I suppose it will work if in the French translation there is a 'o' after the '%'.

That message is apparently marked as a format string. It's probably just a mistake in the template, in which case the owners can fix it by removing the format flag.

Or maybe the program really expects the string to be a format string. If that is the case, the "%" should be escaped (in the source code, the template, and the translation) to avoid painful bugs in the program.

It's just strange because this template is generated automatically and there is no error with the compilation and poedit.

PS : Is it true that you speak all these languages : Afrikaans, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, English (United Kingdom), French, German, Khmer, Korean, Lao, Latin, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Thai, Traditional Chinese ? :)

There wouldn't be any compilation errors; I guess the "% o" can be a valid format spec. At worst you'd get something weird at runtime, possibly a security hole, if this string is really being used as a format string.

(No, I do not speak all of those languages! I can read or decypher most of them to some extent, but four of them are just ones I like to keep an eye on for one reason or another.)

We guess that it's a bug in 'xgettext'. It add 'c-format' automatically but it's not a format string !
But the compilation is ok and the translation for this sentence too !

So it's not important !

Thank you. :) Yes, all it takes to fix this problem then is to fix the template. I guess xgettext may just have been conservative.
