Seems to be partially complete, desktop folder is now visible, but the full home directory is not.

I just installed Karmic UNR (which is __spectacular__ btw) and I find myself constantly wanting to go to my Home folder. To do so, I need to open the Documents folder, and then go up a level. I just added my Home folder as a Nautilus shortcut, which makes it appear in the UNR interface, but now it shows in two places in the Nautilus sidebar which is ugly.

I hope this gets fixed.

(The Desktop is there now, so I'm going to correct the title)

summary: - home and desktop should be in default folders list
+ Home folder should appear in UNR Files and Folders section

I resolved it by adding a line like
file:///home/myname
in the file named ".gtk-bookmarks" located in my home directory.
Hope to have been useful =)

I fixed it directly in the code. That means if you don't have it as a place in nautilus, it will still appear in the folder view.

The version providing that will be available in lucid for beta 1 in one week.

I think this is generally a bad idea. Users should be able to customize their folder list. The nautilus sidebar method worked just fine. Now that these are hardcoded, a user can no longer choose not to have these folders. Excellent example is regression created by the "fix" for bug 423601, in which the examples folder shows up, regardless of whether the underlying folder exists or not.

It was already the same with the desktop folder, so, putting the home folder everytime there make sense.
The Example folder is only shown if you get the examples.desktop file present. So, there is no regression there.
