Thanks for bringing this up.

See commit:

That was supposed to fix it, but apparently it still can't find
ghelp:gnome-power-manager?preferences

The XML help file seems ok. Copying it over e.g totem's help file displays it correctly.
On the other hand, copying totem's help file to /usr/share/gnome/help/gnome-power-manager/C/gnome-power-manager.xml displays the same error as above.

It doesn't matter if I call the help file from the program or directly via $ yelp ghelp:gnome-power-manager

While testing things, I noticed that ghelp:creating-metacity-themes does not work either. Don't know if this is connected.

I actually cannot reproduce this bug, both "Help" from right clicking
on the icon and "Help" from the preferences screen loads the help
properly at the proper page. Can anyone else confirm this in 2.28?

Unfortunately not for me. Purging and reinstalling gnome-power-manager did not help.
Maybe I can try to purge and reinstall the help system, but which package would this be? Is yelp enough... or do I need to care about some language packages (my main language is "en_US" but I have "de" selected in Language selector as well and installed the corresponding langpacks).

Still there in ubuntu 9.10 beta (amd64). With
gnome-power-manager is 2.28.0-0ubuntu3

... the Help button produces the same "The requested URI "ghelp:gnome-power-manager?preferences" is invalid"

Could this be related to the install/upgrade path to the current karmic.

I did a fresh install between alpha 3 and 4 and have been continuously upgrading since then.

I'm also getting this error in 9.10. I installed from scratch using the release ISO and all packages are current. The error is as described in the original report (and #5 and #11). gnome-power-manager 2.28.1-0ubuntu1.
