Bug Description
Binary package hint: straw
Posting this here as per advice from whiprush in this thread: http://
Straw feed reader has been broken since Ubuntu 8.10, the developer's blog makes it clear the program is not being actively developed, and no one seems to be able to make the package run properly in either Ubuntu 9.04 or Ubuntu 9.10. My recommendation is that the package be removed from the Karmic repositories until such a time when it can be fixed and shown to be working once again. It makes no sense to keep this application in the Ubuntu repositories when it is known to be broken.
I think it gives a black eye to the distro for a user to install an app in the repositories and have it not work, only to be told by others when he or she asks about it this is a known problem and no attempts are being made to fix the situation.
If anyone is interested in looking into the issue with the application here is a link to a thread on the Ubuntu Forums: http://
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
