landscape-client install breaks ubuntu server cd installations

Binary package hint: landscape-client

The recent merge of landscape-client for karmic introduced a new dependency on python-pysqlite2, which is actually in universe and consequently *not* on the Ubuntu Server CD. As this is a default installed package, current installations from ISO are broken.

Per discussion with the Landscape development team, this dependency is not even really needed, as the sqlite support built into Python seems to be sufficient.

This dependency should be dropped.

I'm uploading to karmic an update with the attached debdiff. I recommend that the upstream Landscape team apply this patch to avoid re-introducing this problem in a future merge.

This bug was fixed in the package landscape-client - 1.3.2.2-0ubuntu0.9.10.2

Free, do note that we still need the python2.4-pysqlite2 dependency for dapper. It can be dropped for all the others, because sqlite3 is "builtin".

Thanks for the catch Dustin.

I've merged your fix in you karmic branch, along with a couple of
fixes relevant to the dapper build only (python2.4-pysqlite2 and
libcurl3).
