Binary package hint: telepathy-haze

As soon as Empathy has come the default IM in Ubuntu, the thing missing nere is the support for facebook chat. Pidgin has a plugin for it, and here is described how to add the chat into empathy: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17907 but i am sure, that when karmic koala become final, the regular user will be a bit confused to add it and do it every time after empathy update ;)

just realize that to have support for it into telepathy-haze, it depends on pidgin-facebookchat pack, so recompiling it into empathy will be appreciated ;)

this is sooo true, first thing I did after upgrading to Karmic was trying out the new IM and I was very dissappointed to see that My facebook account couldn't be imported from pidgin....

i third this. I use the pidgin plug-in with empathy right now, but it keeps disconnecting, so it is not really stable

When I look at the description of Empathy, it claims to support facebook chat.

installing pidgin-facebookchat in lucid appears to allow me to connect to facebook chat, so I have to wonder if this bug is now Fix Released?

Yeah, configuring a Google Talk account with
- <email address hidden> as username
- your_FB_pwd as password
- chat.facebook.com as server
works perfectly.

I should use my Facebook USERNAME rather than the login email address.

I've just installed Ubuntu 10.10, 64 bit, and trying to connect using my username keeps it connecting from at least 20 minutes with no result.
Any news?

Using the jabber account also doesn't seem to work. I'm still getting "Disconnected -- Network Error"
