Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

With the latest karmic updates, when I log to my Gtalk/Jabber account, I can see myself (the same account) as a connected buddy.

If I start a conversation, then, the conversation frame enters an infinite loop and it is not possible to close it. You have to exit Empathy.

Seeing yourself in your buddy list isn't really a bug as, according to your logs, you are actually in your own list.

But Empathy shouldn't be confused when you try to open a chat with yourself. Which version of Empathy are you using? Could you retry using a recent one (as the one in Karmic or in the Telepathy PPA)?

Same here with Jaunty and Empathy 2.27.92 from Telepathy PPA.
The only difference is that I can chat with myself...

Same here in Karmic.

Responding to Guillaume: I don't know if I'm in my own list. I'm not in my list with the other clients. And I can't remove myself from the list. So I really think it's not normal.

Another one issue here- Ubuntu Karmic Netbook Remix, can see myself in Google Talk contact list on Empathy.
Funny thing is that it happened suddenly, without any updates or changes. And was not noticed before.
