To proceed further, we will need more details. Is the zip drive internal or external, and is it detected (dmesg might help find if it is). Do you still have this problem, under Edgy Beta? Please let us know if there are any error messages, as also what you have done to figure out what is wrong.

Thank you.

I am receiving this e-mail quite some time since I first reported the
problem. Since, I've upgraded to a newer release of Ubuntu. I no
longer have problems mounting and reading disks from the Zip drive
(but I have experienced some difficulty ejecting the disk once it's
dismounted). The drive is internal, and works perfectly under OS-9
on the same computer.

Thanks,
Ernest

Closing this bug since Ernest says the drive works now.
This bug must have been overlooked by all for a long time, since there was no "package" that this bug was ascribed to. I stumbled upon it while going through a list of bugs. I'm extremely sorry it took so long to get back to you on this bug! Thank you for your very prompt response. People like you make Ubuntu rock! :)

My pleasure--I'm pleased that someone looks at these. Thank you for
the work you do--it's gratifying to see Ubuntu become increasingly
more robust. The very fact that it can run well on my Old World 266
MHz Beige Mac G3 is extraordinary. The thing can't even run Apple's
own OS X.

Best,
Ernest
