Closing this bug since Ernest says the drive works now. This bug must have been overlooked by all for a long time, since there was no "package" that this bug was ascribed to. I stumbled upon it while going through a list of bugs. I'm extremely sorry it took so long to get back to you on this bug! Thank you for your very prompt response. People like you make Ubuntu rock! :)
