Bug Description

Binary package hint: arora

Arora is now the default browser in Kubuntu Karmic, so it’s translation should be in good shape for the release.

It would be nice to have a template for it in Launchpad. In this way it would be easier to fix typos or even translate it into new languages.

Rosetta would have to support the Qt translation system, I'm afraid. :(
Nothing wrong with collaborating upstream with the translations, I suppose.

Sure there's nothing wrong with collaboration, but it should not be a requirement to translate this upstream. The default browser of Kubuntu must be translatable through Launchpad.

As far as I know TS support is not on the top priority list of the Rosetta developers and I don't know if we can hope to see that feature implemented by the community.

You can try to solve this problem in 2 steps:

1. Modify Arora build script to convert the final .TS files to .PO (.POT)
Here is the tool: http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/toolkit/ts2po

2. Modify language-pack generation script to convert / or build .QM files for all templates using QT Translation files.
Each template has a field „File format for the source file:” than can be edited by members of Ubuntu Translations Coordination team.

Lowering importance. Arora is not the default browser, and although in main, there are alternatives which are localised and use the standard gettext format.

Then I'll mark it as Invalid for now. If Arora makes it to main again,
we can reopen it.
