Bug Description

Binary package hint: me-tv

This release fixes some bugs that would create unnecessary bug reports once Karmic reaches a "STABLE RELEASE!"

2009-07-22 Michael Lamothe <email address hidden>

 * 0.10.0
 * Now using a custom xine player
 * Fixed mute on channel change issue
 * Fixed video size issues on startup
 * Added channel changing by key bindings

2009-07-07 Michael Lamothe <email address hidden>

 * 0.9.6
 * Scheduled recordings/EPG events are now deleted when the channel is deleted
 * An attempt to make the scan/import more friendly to duplicate channel names
 * Made EPG save more efficient
 * Fixed crash when adding a scheduled recording

2009-07-02 Michael Lamothe <email address hidden>

 * 0.9.5
 * Using xshm as default xine video driver
 * Added conditional compile for recent DVB parameters (not available in Debian stable)
 * Fix for "GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated"
 * Removed g_error() calls from THREAD_CATCH which forced the application to abort
 * Made initial tuning file parser a little more robust
 * Added periodical prune() call for the EPG events held in memory

Sorry when clicking options for "nominate for release" I've mistakenly selected Jaunty & Intrepid .... ignore those :/

You make a lot of changes to debian/changelog:

daniel@bert:~$ diff -ruN me-tv-{0.9.4,1.0.0}/debian/changelog | diffstat
 changelog | 190 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++------
 1 file changed, 172 insertions(+), 18 deletions(-)
daniel@bert:~$

AFAICT there's only one new revision going into Ubuntu: 1.0.0-0ubuntu1 - also the Maintainer / Standards-Version changes shouldn't be necessary.

Just to clarify, do I need to repackage? and alter standards back to
3.8.1 ?

Also purge entries in the debian/changelog the are actual changes and
remove blank entries like "* New upstream version" ?

Could you get the current karmic source package and make it so that the diff to your new package is minimal?

It doesn't make much sense for us to have changelog entries of source package that never made it into Ubuntu itself.

Maybe I've missed something here but why is there an upstream bug for something specific to karmic? I've closed this.

Scott: thanks for your work. I made a bunch of changes before I uploaded your work.

 1) Please always base your uploads on what's in archive.ubuntu.com right now. You replaced one old changelog entry with a different one.
 2) It's no worth changing Maintainer fields. Just stick to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebianMaintainerField and you're fine.
 3) I replaced the libxml-parser-perl Build-Depends with intltool (>= 0.35.0).
 4) I mentioned the added Recommends in the changelog.
 5) Re-formatted debian/changelog a bit.

I'll attach both diffs to the bug report for reference.
