Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
I use a KVM switch, and this 1024x768 LCD is all I've used with machine. If the KVM isn't set to the ubuntu channel, X commits to a default value that isn't compatible with this monitor. Maybe it's not a bug, but X should use the last known working value.

There's no way knowing the last working value.. Edit your xorg.conf to force the resolution.
