Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

When I click "Compter" or "Network" in the Places menu, Nautilus crashes. It appears to start to open the window for "computer", but the outline of the window appears for only an instant then disappears. When this happens, the icons on my desktop also disappear. I can restore the icons and open other folders through the places menu or elsewhere if I use the terminal or Alt+F2 to run "Nautilus". I have tried removing the .gnome, .gnome2, .gnconf, and .gconfd from the home folder and rebooting, this does not fix the issue at all.

This is in ubuntu 9.04

The version for nautilus is: 1:2.26.2-0ubuntu2

In /var/log/messages the following line appears:
