The latest version I see of kanyremote available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/anyremote/files/ appears to be 5.10.1. Can you please update to this version?

This bug was fixed in the package kanyremote - 5.10.1-0ubuntu1

kanyremote (5.10.1-0ubuntu1) karmic; urgency=low

  * New upstream release (LP: #395263)
    - bump in depends anyremote to >= 4.18.1
    - bump in depends python-kde3 to python-kde4 and python-qt3 to python-qt4
    - add python-bluez in recommends
    - remove dh_desktop from rules
