Launchpad-wide search function

Launchpad could provide an ominipresent search function on the front page, and maybe in the top right corner of every other page. Ideally this search would return results from across Launchpad, but be context-aware and facet-aware in its ordering of results.

As I mentioned in <https://wiki.launchpad.canonical.com/MaloneSearch#head-804f7924c8bd05d93bdf5126f8ef8e8d48db6feb>, we shouldn't do this until all the Launchpad applications (or at least Malone, Rosetta, the Registry, Soyuz, the spec tracker, and the bounty tracker) have working search functions. Otherwise people would become accustomed to the idea that the global search was not global long after that stopped being true.

Right, I precisely see your point now and agree with you. Additionally, could you point here the bugs and/or tasks in the path to reach such functionality ?

Let's consider this fix released with the new site-wide search. Open up new bugs for missing functionality in it, if that's still relevant (for example, results all always global and not tied to the current application--bugs, code, etc. I'm not sure it's a deficiency imho).
