Bug Description

When running the GNOME desktop, there is no icon for the keep menu entry. Icons should be displayed for every menu entry, whether the menu is being run in GNOME, KDE, or XFCE.

Confirmed, just a boring "window-with-title-bar" icon.

A mystery to me, the icons exists in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/*/apps/keep.png

and the .desktop file says Icon=keep

I just looked too, and I must say I don't understand...
I don't have gnome or xfce installed, but as far as I can see, there is absolutly no reason for the icon not to display on another desktop environment...
I will install gnome toonight and test...

I just installed xfce and gnome on a fresh kubuntu installation, and the menu entry was ok on each desktop...
Can you confirm it works for you now ?

I can still confirm that the "Keep" icon inside the GNOME desktop shows up in the System Tools menu with the default "Window with titlebar" icon.

Jonathan, the icon must be in /usr/share/pixmaps to get it to appear in the menu.

Hi Mr. Riddell:

On the desktop find the Panel, either the one on the top or the bottom
of the Desktop area. Move the cursor to the Panel position you would
like to see that Menu Icon. Now Right click your Mouse, and there will
be a Menu of Icons to pick from. One of them is the Ubuntu Symbol, with
the word Menu near it. Select that Icon, and that will place it at the
spot in the panel that you choose. Clicking on this Menu Icon will bring
up the Ubuntu Menu, that combines, Application, Places, and System
Functions into one menu!

Just a bit of Operator Error in this case!

Alfred!

dh_iconcache is now in cdbs/kde.mk, so the problem should have gone
