Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

I suggest to install graphic cards drivers updates in the essential updates. (After installing the Ubuntu 9.04)

After installing Ubuntu 9 (from windows) the graphic card is working ok, but after a few startups, it starts to flip and you receive a completely disturbed screen layout, unreadable, and the only solution is to uninstall and reinstall Ubuntu obce again.
I have tried to use the
sudo chmod 777 ati-driver-installer-8.28.8.run
sudo sh ati-driver-installer-8.28.8.run
method, but since I cannot access the home dir, where I have to copy the run file to, this solution is noy working.

I have already installed and reinstalled 12 times Ubuntu, but the graphic card is not working well.

Changing to xserver-xorg-driver-ati, feel free to add ubuntu-docs back in if you were referred to do this in the system help.

affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) → xserver-xorg-driver-ati (Ubuntu)

xserver-xorg-driver-ati is also wrong, it is not in use and when it was, it was for the free -ati driver. Ubuntu supports the proprietary driver fglrx through "jockey" (Hardware Drivers in the System menu). Installing downloaded drivers manually is not supported.

affects: xserver-xorg-driver-ati (Ubuntu) → fglrx-installer (Ubuntu)
Changed in fglrx-installer (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

This is invalid, but not for that particular reason.

The packages created from the AMD website are identical to those that are in the archive. They both are generated from the same source package intermediary.

This is invalid because the 9250 isn't supported on fglrx anymore.
