evolution-indicator not working in Karmic

Binary package hint: evolution-indicator

In jaunty, the evolution-indicator gave evolution an entry in the indicator applet and it showed a notification when there was a new mail. In karmic, I have none of those functions, not even a tray icon when there's a new mail. There is no ability to know if there's any new mail at glance, nor any indication of it.

while evolution indicator is installed it does not show up in the evolution plugin list at all. i think the plugin format of evolution changed in the karmic version and evolution-indicator was not adjusted to it.

This just needs a rebuild against evolution 2.27.x. The path to the plugins are version specific.

it's not a matter of simple rebuild the source doesn't build on karmic and need to be updated

The package evolution-indicator - 0.1.16-0ubuntu1 doesn't fix my problem LP: #392862. Evolution still not have notification when got new message.

I can confirm that latest version doesn't fix the problem.

I was also going to report an issue that Karmic Evolution doesn't send a DBus message when new email arrives any more but I guess it is related to current.

Have reinstalled Evolution, with cleaning ~/.evolution folder and gconf settings and now the indicator works, it shows the green mark over email icon when there are new email messages. But Evolution still doesn't send DBus event, is this something for a new bug report?

Wow, I saw first notification when I got a new message in evolution, but then apport show me crash report :D
