Bug Description

Binary package hint: revelation

My upload of revelation 0.4.11-4ubuntu1 FTBFS. I accidentally kept the ui.py with the Ubuntu changes instead of changing to the native version so the new Debian patch 90_applet_crash.dpatch to apply the change.

Reverted to the native ui.py so the patch works. I have uploaded to my (newly created) PPA this time to make sure it works. It builds and I have given it some testing.

Debdiff attached. Subscribing u-u-s. Thanks for reviewing again, and apologies for the careless mistake!

It built for me locally, and to make sure of this I also built it in my PPA. You can see the build log:

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/27933491/buildlog_ubuntu-karmic-i386.revelation_0.4.11-4ubuntu2~hew1_FULLYBUILT.txt.gz

Note the patch applies correctly now:

applying patch 90_applet_crash to ./ ... ok.

If it's not working for you, could you let me know where the problem lies (include the build log if possible) so I can look into it further? Thanks!

Confirmed that this no longer builds (although it did before). It's believed this is a problem with gnome-python-extras, and not a problem with revelation itself.

Yes, it built locally for me, but dpkg-deb complains:

 dpkg-deb --build debian/revelation ..
Found files in /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages (must be in dist-packages for python2.6).
debian/revelation/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages

...

Resubscribe the sponsors team when this is fixed, sorry I missed it in a local build :)

I don't have the time to work on this bug, and it's beyond my skill level of basic merges.

The problem is to do with the site-packages folder needing to be renamed to dist-packages to work with python2.6. This requires some sort of renaming/changes to the configure file in order to be compatible with both python2.5 and python2.6.
