Net it was correct? ia am selected "1 net Network/Ethernet/Wireless (direct connection or JetDirect)" (PhotoSmart 2613)

I can't try again because i have new version of Debian (6.0.0.2) and new problem :-)

Hi Valery,

If you know the printer IP address, please check whether you can able to ping the printer from the terminal or not.

and also check whether you can able to add using following command.

$ hp-setup <IP Address>

The same error message appears for me on Ubuntu 16.04 and hplib 3.16.3 when calling hp-setup -i without sudo.
When I call it with sudo everything runs fine but a warning appears that it should *not* be called in a root mode (warning: It is not recommended to run 'hp-plugin' in a root mode).

So I guess calling it with sudo is a workaround but not the correct one.
