I just saw that bug 208786 has a comment that suggests this bug (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/208786/comments/5 ).

Note that this is NOT a duplicate of bug 208786 because this has nothing to do with the state of the save button. This bug is that all unmodified docs should not prompt for saving when closing. See the attached TESTSAVING.ppt as an example that works correctly: open it and closing it will not prompt for the save, irrespective of any save button status.

This appears to be an ooo-build issue as it doesn't happen with official OOo 3.1.0.

Changed in openoffice.org (Ubuntu):

[This is an automated message.]
There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
