Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Look I'm new to this having only installed Ubuntu yesterday (3 June) It is the latest version (9.04) and I installed it because when streaming video using Vista via the website (google, bbc whatever) I experienced rendering issues and multiple crashes. Finally I ran out of patience and got rid of Vista. Now I am experiencing much the same problem with Ubuntu and Firefox. I expect to be able to watch videos in real time and smoothly instead it is in slow motion and very jerky. I hope this helps you to help me.
Cheers

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
Package: firefox-3.0 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1
ProcEnviron:
 LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: firefox-3.0
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic i686

Hi,

Received this email from yourselves but I have no idea what I have to do with it. I have opened the attachments and I am still none the wiser.

Cheers

The mail you received is just a copy of your bug report.
What browser did you use in Vista when you had the same issues?

I used IE6,7 and I think 8. All had problems. I have tried Epiphany and Opera and they run much smoother, no sound issues, though any web content watched in full screen is jerky. Firefox though is unwatchable in fullscreen.

Cheers, hope it helps

Thanks for getting back to me. I thought I had closed this. I sold my computer in order to get a ticket home, so no computer = no ubuntu. Will be up and running again in the near future.
